Get to Know First Baptist

First Baptist Church (FBC) of Mahomet is the oldest church in Mahomet with a building erected in 1867. However, we're far from being outdated as our ministries strive to be relevant in an ever changing world.

FBC is affiliated with the American Baptist Churches of the Great Rivers Region. Members are affirmed through Adult Baptism by Immersion, Letter of Transfer from another Christian Congregation, or Statement of Christian Experience.

Meet The Pastor

Pastor Brian Romanowski spent 8 years in the military and 13 years working for Rockwell Automation doing automation engineering, before hearing the call to ministry. Brian has been at FBC Mahomet since 2007. His passion is missions and outreach. Brian has been married to his wife Julie for 38 years and they have one adult son, Vince. Brian enjoys the outdoors, and stays in shape by running. Brian also enjoys a good cup of coffee.

Brian is an Eastern Illinois alum and has a Master of Divinity degree from Lincoln Christian Seminary and a Doctor of Ministry degree from Northern Baptist Theological Seminary. Brian also serves as the Dean of Alternative Ministerial Education for the Great Rivers Region and the Assistant Minister of Areas III & IV.
